This five and half day silent retreat will be a meditative, movement, and contemplative inquiry into the nature of Spirit. A deepening into the life of the bodymind one will ultimately find themselves engaged in questions of the Spirit. The deeper waters of awe, wonder, love, timelessness, a knowing without understanding, the sacredness of life, a direct perception of what is, and a suffering that births compassion begin to come to the foreground. The personal self becomes less central and our mutual interconnectedness becomes more obvious; the small “I” is eclipsed by a profound sense of belonging to a greater whole. We will have sessions of sitting, moving, reflection, and being with nature to deepen our inquiry.
The Tradition of Dana
None of the retreat cost goes to the teacher. The teachings are given freely. Teacher compensation for this retreat depends solely on donations from retreat participants. This tradition of making offerings to those who hold these retreats is called dana, which is the Pali (an ancient language of India) word for generosity.
There will be an opportunity to offer dana to the teacher at the end of the retreat. How much you give depends on the value you assess of the retreat, your desire to support the teacher and staff in continuing to offer these retreats, and how much you can afford. Dana can be paid by cash, check, or credit card.
We look forward to seeing you.
